Description
These knives are said to be "forged", i.e. made directly from a solid steel bar with a round cross-section, first brought to incandescence at 1100°C, then crushed by a drop hammer. The steel piece then takes its shape and its almost final volume. The solid piece forged in one piece will then be cut with a punch to obtain the shape of the final blank.
This raw "forge stamp" will then follow the traditional manufacturing steps. There are no less than 18 of them, some of which are automated, others still manual. This is the only process that allows us to obtain a forged blade.
This particular manufacturing process gives the knife essential advantages
- optimization of the molecular structure of the steel
- robustness and resistance to wear
- balance in the hand
