White espadrilles
The Mauléon espadrille, hand-sewn in the Basque tradition of the 19th century.
Description
In Mauléon-Licharre, in the heart of the Basque Country, a handful of workshops still perpetuate the traditional espadrille-making technique that dates back to the 19th century.
The cotton canvas is cut by hand, then assembled with a hand-made jute rope sole. A layer of vulcanized rubber reinforces the sole, for comfortable walking and long-lasting durability. The stitched finish around the perimeter, a Mauléon signature, envelops the foot as soon as it is slipped on, ensuring a naturally pleasant fit.
This white model adopts a sober aesthetic, easy to combine with everyday wear.
Also available in several other colors.
Size advice: take one size above your usual shoe size for an optimal fit.
