The black gardian boot
A blend of Camargue heritage and Mexican influences, gardianes boots are made for you!
Description
Founded in 1958, La Botte Gardiane, a factory with the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, perpetuates exceptional craftsmanship in the Camargue. Each pair is handcrafted in our workshops using artisanal techniques handed down from generation to generation.
Before treading the plains of Camargue, Santiag was born much further afield, in Mexico. Inspired by the boots worn by vaqueros, the horsemen of the great ranches, it features a high shaft and beveled heel, designed to keep the foot firmly in the saddle. Arriving in the Camargue in the 1950s, the gardians in turn adopted them.
Made from full-grain black leather retanned with hot grease, this pair of boots is designed to resist water effectively and promises remarkable sturdiness. The thick, lined, durable leather develops a patina over time, while the snug fit and meticulous finishing reflect exacting craftsmanship.
