Espadrilles de Mauléon Ecru
The Basque espadrille in its most sober and timeless version.
Description
In its natural ecru version, the Mauléon espadrille highlights the very essence of this emblematic Basque shoe. Manufactured using the traditional technique of machine stitching, unique to this commune since the 19th century, it embodies the rigorous craftsmanship handed down from generation to generation.
The unbleached fabric retains the raw hue of the cotton. It is hand-cut, sewn onto a hand-molded jute sole, then reinforced with a layer of vulcanized rubber for added durability. Faithful to the local method, each pair is assembled with the famous rim stitching, a unique Mauléon feature, a guarantee of solidity and comfort.
