Description
The espadrille from Mauléon embodies a unique know-how, handed down since the early 19th century in the heart of the Basque Country. Here, in the workshops of this small town, the rare and precious technique of machine stitching is still perpetuated, jealously preserved by a few expert hands.
The royal blue version perfectly illustrates this tradition. Its vibrant canvas is hand-cut to a chalk template, then sewn onto a jute sole, itself molded by hand. Vulcanized rubber reinforces the whole, guaranteeing long-lasting wear, even after hours of walking.
Mauléon's signature edge stitching reinforces the shoe's sturdiness while ensuring immediate comfort.
