Mammoth ivory Laguiole knife
A pocket knife in mammoth ivory crust, made entirely by hand.
Description
The plates that adorn this knife are not just another aesthetic choice: they are carved from millennia-old fossilized tusks.Mammoth ivory is a non-reproducible material, with each fragment bearing its own unique hue, grain and veining.
This is an exceptional, one-of-a-kind piece crafted by a MOF in the Laguiole workshops in Aubrac.
The guilloche work on the bolster and spring is hand-crafted, with exceptionally fine detail. The steel treatment alternates between brushed, polished and hammered.
This meticulous workmanship, visible as soon as you hold the object, sets this knife apart from common production and tells the story of its manufacture: slowly, carefully, with remarkable skill.
The size is generous without being bulky: 22 cm open, 10 cm stainless steel blade. A pocket knife built to last.
Made in France by Laguiole en Aubrac, a company with a proven track record in cutlery.
