Description
"Siéton" is an old term in Provençal pottery: it refers to this small, shallow, hand-thrown bowl that was placed on the table for sauces, condiments, or appetizers.
Each piece is wheel-thrown and then decorated using the “clou” technique, in which the design is traced directly into the raw clay before firing. The line remains visible, slightly indented, bearing the imprint of the hand that drew it. No two pieces are exactly alike.
French terracotta is a material that is both porous and dense, warm to the touch, and softens and develops a patina with use. It ages well without losing its shape and gains character over time.
Each piece is unique.
