Biaude, Blouse auvergnate
A traditional Auvergne blouse, also known as a "biaude".
Designed by the historic Le Laboureur factory, which has been revisiting traditional garments since the 1950s.
Description
The biaude was once worn for mass, festivals and agricultural fairs. It was worn over a corduroy jacket, which is why the blouse is very loose-fitting. Plan to wear one or two sizes smaller if you want to use it as a dress.
Made from 100% black cotton canvas.
Think of it as a tunic dress, suitable for both urban and rural looks, or as a mid-season jacket.
The blouse faithfully reproduces the details of the biaudes of yesteryear, with the officer collar, front closure, tightened sleeves and buttoned cuffs.
Comfortable and practical, with 2 vertically-opening buttoned welt breast pockets and side pass-throughs for easy access to your pockets.
Machine washable at 40°C, tumble dry at 60°C, ironable up to 150°C, dry cleaning permitted.
