Chapeau Creusois
A traditional French hat, hand-crafted in the continuity of centuries-old rural know-how.
Description
Chapeau Creusois has its roots in a long French hat-making tradition. Over the centuries, the Creuse region has established itself as a hotbed of hat-making, with craftsmen perfecting their skills from generation to generation. As a headgear for farm workers and shepherds, it was as much a daily tool as a sign of regional identity, sometimes handed down as a family heirloom.
Made from straw, its silhouette has remained true to itself: slightly rounded cap, wide edges, balanced proportions. This shape responds to a logic of use: to offer protection against the sun and bad weather, while maintaining a sober, dignified look.
Each piece is the result of meticulous craftsmanship: hand-formed, precision-formed edges, carefully finished with grosgrain. An inner leather band completes the ensemble for a comfortable fit. Made in France by a company founded in 1824, this heritage is perpetuated with the care it deserves.
