Tyrolean cast iron stove
Cast iron skillet with hooked end handle for hanging, diameter to choose from. This coating is ideal for grilling meats, potatoes and many others.
Suitable for all heat sources including induction.
Manufactured by an Austrian family-owned factory founded in 1550
Description
First use:
The wax layer, which acts as a protection against rust, should be removed with hot water before the first use. Then the pan must be "seasoned" so that it can develop a "patina" (= a natural coating that allows less grease or oil to be used when cooking)
Here's how to do it
- Heat enough fat
- Add potato slices, potato peels and lots of salt
- Fry for about 15 minutes, turning the potatoes until they become very dark in color
- Discard the burnt potatoes
- Rub the pan well with paper towels
Maintenance:
Never put the pan in the dishwasher after use, just wipe it down with a tea towel. If there is a heavy incrustation, clean the pan with water, salt and a brush and let it dry well on a hot stove.
