Description
The essential kitchen utensil for successful Savoyard fondues.
The Le Creuset caquelon is made of enamelled cast iron, which offers several advantages: It distributes the heat evenly, ensuring even cooking and preventing the cheese from burning. Cast iron retains heat very well, so your dishes stay hot longer at the table.
The enamel coating inside the pan provides a smooth, non-stick surface, preventing food from sticking and making clean-up easier.

How to care for your fondue pot
Always allow the pan to cool completely before cleaning, as thermal shock can damage the enamel.
Soak the pan in hot water to loosen the coarse residue (15-20 minutes) before washing.
Warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge to clean the inside and outside of your pan. Do not use abrasive cleaners, detergents, sponges or brushes.
Be sure to dry the pan thoroughly after washing to prevent rust. Dry with a dry cloth or air-dry.
Store the fondue pot in a dry, well-ventilated place, not in a damp one, to prevent rust.
By following these care instructions, your fondue pot will preserve its quality, and you'll be able to continue enjoying delicious fondues and other tasty dishes for many years to come.
