Designed to accompany the Piedmontese tradition of bagna cauda, this brown glazed ceramic stove keeps your sauce at a constant temperature throughout the meal. It holds a small bowl or dish, heated simply by a tealight candle (not supplied) inserted in the base.

What is bagna cauda?

Originating in Italy's Piedmont region, bagna cauda (literally "hot bath") is a hot sauce based on candied garlic, anchovies and olive oil. Served in a stove in the middle of the table, it is enjoyed by dipping raw or cooked vegetables, bread or potatoes. More than a dish, it's a simple, generous moment of sharing, often reserved for long autumn and winter evenings.
