Cologne Rose Santa Maria Novella
The colognes of the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella transport you to the heart of the Florentine Renaissance, the birthplace of the dispensary.
Rosa is a bouquet of floral notes reminiscent of the unique fragrance of the queen of perfumery, rosa centifolia or May rose.
Description
The rose has very ancient origins. Roses already existed at the time of the Sumerians, roses are mentioned in the Iliad, and in China in the 5th century, rose oil was reserved for the emperor and the court nobles. The Romans made great use of it: the streets of the city were covered with rose petals during the festivities, garlands of roses decorated the banquets, rose water was sprayed on the guests. According to the archives, the Dominicans were already selling rose water in 1381. In the language of flowers, they have different meanings depending on the color: Candor for the white rose, passion for the red ones, infidelity and jealousy for the yellow roses.
