Baptismal tumbler in silver-plated metal
A traditional birth gift since the 18th century, this kettledrum accompanies children from their first gestures right through to adulthood.
Description
This timbale has been crafted in French workshops where goldsmiths have been perpetuating their ancestral gestures since 1946. Each piece is silver-plated using an in-house process that guarantees lasting brilliance. The base metal receives several layers of pure silver, creating a patina that sublimates over time.
A symbol of welcome and protection
Since the 18th century, the gift of a kettledrum has embodied a child's welcome into the family and society. It symbolizes a wish for prosperity and protection, transforming an everyday object into a transmissible witness. The child grows up with its kettledrum, which accompanies it from its first meals to adulthood, before being passed on in its turn.
Two models to choose from:
- Louis XVI: tulip-shaped, flared at the top with a slightly marked foot and a neck wider than the base, sober and elegant.
- Perles: flared silhouette punctuated by a pearl motif inspired by classic jewelry.
