How candles are made
Our candles and wax objects are made from carefully selected and measured ingredients. This unique know-how ensures exceptional wax density, longer life (between 3 and 5 times longer than industrial candles) and intense, deep, lively light. To achieve uniform hues, color pigments are sprinkled into the wax and turned repeatedly. The workshop is run by 4 master waxmakers, who perpetuate the excellence of candles that don't drip or give off black smoke.
The diving technique
Plunging dates back to the 15th century. It is used to create tapered candles, thinner at the top. Patiently selected cotton wicks are attached to wooden sticks. This is called meching. Placed on frames, the rods are plunged into the wax until they reach the desired diameter, under the watchful eye of the Master Cirier.
