Tinplate
A healthy material for rapid baking, tinplate has been used since the 13th century for its heat conduction and lightness. Environmentally friendly, it can be recycled indefinitely. Its thickness of 0.5 mm guarantees strength and durability.
When using tinplate, always remember to butter and flour it for easy unmolding.
After use, wash with Marseille soap and a soft sponge, rather than with a harsh chemical dishwashing detergent.
Dry immediately to avoid oxidation marks and apply a thin layer of edible oil. Store in a dry place.
Over time, the tourtière will develop a black patina, a sign that the culotte is forming.
