Description

How to wear our Swedish clogs?

In fine weather, dresses and jeans go perfectly with them, but they're also the ideal mid-season shoe! On chilly days, Swedish clogs go beautifully with thick wool socks, ribbed or not.

How to care for your clog's leather?

We recommend waxing your clogs twice a season to keep them supple and waterproof (see Paulin waxes and greases sold on our website).

For stains or very dry leather, use Avel regenerating cleaning soap and Avel leather renovator (available online).

The origin of the Swedish clog?

The Swedish clog originated in the Middle Ages, but it was popularized in Sweden in the 18th century by the government, which encouraged the population to wear these clogs.
The traditional manufacturing technique has remained unchanged: the genuine leather upper is stapled by hand to a solid beech sole.
The only compromise to modernity is a leather insole and a rubber toe cap for extra comfort and to allow you to wear your Swedish clogs every day.
