Wicks for Jeunet night lights x20

A set of 20 replacement wicks for Jeunet oil night lights, the little lamps that burn in a glass of water topped with a layer of oil. The wick, set on its float, draws the oil up by capillary action and gives a low, steady flame for hours.

Each wick is a short strand of cotton coated in wax, mounted on a small metal washer that holds it upright on the float. Composition: cotton, wax and metal. Made in France by Les Veilleuses Françaises, whose box recalls the date 1838, that of the first Jeunet night lights.

Fill a glass three-quarters full of water, pour a finger of oil on top, set the float fitted with its wick on the surface and light it. When the wick has burnt down, replace it. The cork floats are sold separately.
