Description
Made in Provence from vegetable wax and fragrances from Grasse, housed in a white ceramic jar. Fresh mint from the Capucins market, sweet lavender from the herbalist’s, or precious musk from the spice merchants: the scents of these candles are like so many nods to Noailles.
Presented in pretty white ceramic jars, these vegetable wax candles will fill your home with fresh or warmer floral scents.
A collection of 6 scents:
Ambre du Marquis: a sensual fragrance referencing the scandalous affair, known as the ‘Marseille Affair’, which led to the downfall of the Marquis de Sade following his stay on Rue d’Aubagne.
Fleur d’oranger des Récollettes: just a stone’s throw away on the 17th arrondissement, this heavenly scent once wafted powerfully from the Couvent des Dames Récollettes, home to a community of nuns.
Lavande de l’Herboriste: a tribute to our historic neighbour.
Menthe des Capucins: a bouquet of fresh mint, evoking the colourful stalls of the market of the same name.
Mimosa de Saint Louis: this small, yellow, pom-pom-like winter flower was sold in abundance throughout the 20th century by the flower sellers in the Cour Saint-Louis.
Noailles Musk: a nod to the fabulous spice merchants in the neighbourhood, who for centuries have transported the people of Marseille to the Orient.
Once the candle has burnt out, the ceramic jar makes a lovely bathroom storage container: for cotton wool, make-up brushes, hairbrushes, etc.
Once the candle is finished, the ceramic pot will make a nice bathroom storage as a box for cotton, tooth glass, brushes, etc.
Burn time: 50 to 60 hours.
