Opinel n°102 carbon steel paring knife
Due to new U.S. regulations, this item cannot be shipped to the United States.
Description
A formidable cutting tool
With its carbon steel blade, this Opinel is renowned for its exceptional sharpness and easy sharpening.
The chemical composition of carbon steel gives it remarkable hardness, ensuring long life and a sharp blade even after intensive use. This smooth-bladed knife is the perfect tool for slicing and dicing fruit, chopping onions and shallots, and trimming meats.
The beechwood handle is varnished to resist dirt and moisture.
How to care for your Opinel paring knife?
Carbon steel requires special care due to its susceptibility to corrosion. To preserve the quality of the blade, we advise you to avoid leaving the knife in damp environments (dishwashers or the edge of a sink), to wipe the blade with a greasy cloth and to regularly grease the blade with edible vegetable oil.
Sharpening a carbon blade is relatively simple. With a good whetstone, you'll retain its optimum sharpness for many years to come.
