Maianenco ecru fabric by the metre

Maianenco ecru is the softest version in this series of Provençal fabrics by the metre: on an ecru ground scattered with grey dots, bouquets of pink roses with grey-green foliage, evenly spaced. Less bold than the red or yellow grounds, it suits a bedroom or a breakfast table.

100% cotton, 152 cm wide, sold by the metre in one-metre lengths across the full width. The width lets you cut a pillowcase, a window curtain or a square tablecloth with no seam down the middle; for curtains, add about fifteen centimetres for hems.

A pale ground gets washed a little more often: machine at 40 °C, no fabric softener, dried in the shade so the ecru does not yellow. A first wash before cutting remains the rule. Iron on the reverse while the fabric is still slightly damp.
