Multi-thread braid, classic colours
Description
A multi-thread braid is a small reserve of sewing thread plaited flat: twelve threads in different colours, 50 cm each, held together. Pull out the strand you need, sew the button or hem back on, and put the rest away in your bag or travel kit.
The threads are polyester, strong and lint-free, in classic colours: white, off-white, beige, browns, greys, blues, black. The braid is made in France by Bohin, a Normandy haberdasher founded in 1833 and the last needle and pin maker in the country.
To take out a thread, pull it gently from the end of the braid while holding the rest; it comes free without tangling the others. 50 cm is enough for a button, a buttonhole to mend or a small hem. With a needle stuck into the braid, you have a pocket sewing kit.
