Coconut fibre dish brush

This coconut fibre dish brush is made for the heavy end of the washing-up: frying pans, saucepans, gratin dishes, burnt-on bottoms. The fibre is hard; it lifts what a sponge cannot, without scratching stainless steel or enamel.

The handle is untreated beech, long, with an angled head to reach the bottom of a tall saucepan without wetting your hands. Coconut fibre comes from the husk of the nut and stays firm even when wet. The brush is made in Germany by a brush-making workshop.

Use it in hot water with a little soap, and rinse it after each wash. Store it head down or hung up by its hole, never left soaking in the sink, or the wood blackens and the fibre softens. When the fibre has worn short, the brush has done its job.
