White duroplast earthed socket

This white duroplast earthed socket is a flush-mounted power socket to the French standard, with the earth pin in the centre, fitted in an ordinary flush-mounting box. Its round, raised design is that of pre-war sockets, for an old house being renovated.

Duroplast is a thermosetting resin, from the same family as bakelite, hard and matt. The socket is rated 16 A at 250 V, measures 8.2 cm in diameter, is held by spring claws (the clamps that anchor it in the box) and has a child-safety shutter that closes the holes.

The cover plate, round or square, is sold separately. Wiring is done with the power switched off at the board, preferably by an electrician. Clean with a barely damp cloth, no abrasives.
