46 Magic Tricks is the sister box to the card tricks: forty-six tricks explained on illustrated cards, using objects everyone has at home. A coin that vanishes under a scarf, a glass of water that stays stuck to a card, a ping-pong ball spirited away: enough to put on a show after dinner.

Each card gives the props, the steps and a drawing of the move. The box is a new edition of the tricks of the conjuror Caroly, published by Marc Vidal in Brunoy and printed in France. From age 8, and for the parents who join in.

The magician's rule: practise until the trick runs without a hitch, never reveal the secret, never repeat a trick in front of the same audience. Rehearse the water tricks over the sink.
