Glass Butter Keeper, Water-Sealed, 200 ml (7 oz)
Due to new U.S. regulations, this item cannot be shipped to the United States.
Description
The principle is old, and it works. Water, not cold, protects the butter. Pack the butter firmly into the glass bell, then lower it into the base filled with 70 ml (2.4 fl oz) of cold water. The water forms an airtight seal around the butter, cutting off the air and stopping it from oxidising. The butter stays soft and ready to spread, and never has to go near the fridge.
Upkeep comes down to changing the water every two to three days. Nothing else to do, no extra accessory to buy. The whole system is two pieces, which is exactly why it holds up so well in daily use.
The clear soda-lime glass has a practical advantage: it is non-porous, so it picks up no odours or stray flavours, and you can see at a glance how much butter is left.
The 200 ml (7 fl oz) capacity fits a standard block of butter.
