10 MERKUR razor blades

This box of ten Merkur razor blades refills a classic safety razor, open or closed comb: it is the standard double-edge format, which fits all razors of this type.

Merkur Super blades are stainless steel with a platinum coating, which softens the stroke and extends their life. Each blade is folded in its paper, in a cardboard case. Merkur is a Solingen firm, in Germany, that has specialised in safety razors for about a hundred years.

A blade generally lasts a week of shaves, longer if the beard is fine. Change it as soon as it pulls instead of cutting. After each shave, rinse the razor in hot water and leave it to dry open: a blade left damp oxidises faster, even in stainless steel.
