Due to new U.S. regulations, this item cannot be shipped to the United States.
Description
Rabelais pepper is whole black peppercorns, packed in a 40 g sachet by the Rabelais manufacture in Marseille, the maker of Épices Rabelais, the Marseille herb and spice blend created in 1880. An everyday pepper, to grind just before serving.
The sachet takes up the brand's yellow and green label, with its portrait of Rabelais, in a format created for Maison Empereur. The origin of the peppercorns is not stated.
Grind it as you go, in a mill or a mortar: pepper soon loses its scent once ground. A few whole peppercorns also go into a stock or a marinade. Keep the sachet well closed, away from light and damp.
The Rabelais manufacture is one of the Marseille houses that have worked with spices since the 19th century.
