Description
The expandable cake mould lets you bake a loaf cake, a sandwich loaf or a terrine at the length that matches the amount of batter: from 20 cm for a small cake to 35 cm for a big table, with a single mould in the cupboard.
It is made by Zenker in Germany, in steel with a black non-stick coating. The two halves slide into each other and lock at the chosen length. Width 11.5 cm, height 8 cm; it goes in the oven up to 230 °C.
Set the length before pouring in the batter, fill it two-thirds full to leave room for the cake to rise, and turn it out while still warm. The coating does not like metal utensils: use a wooden or silicone spatula. Wash by hand with a soft sponge, and dry it well before putting it away.
