Description
This aluminium trivet, with two handles and standing on three feet, takes a saucepan or a hot dish at the table. The feet keep it off the tablecloth, and the handles let you move it without burning yourself while the dish is still on it.
It is 19 cm across, in cast aluminium, raw, with no coating, with a pattern of concentric circles and rays. It is made in Italy by an old family-run manufacturer.
Aluminium does not rust and does not mind heat. Wash it by hand in hot soapy water: in the dishwasher it dulls and blackens. Over time it takes on a matt patina that can be brought back with a soft scourer.
This is the trivet from our grandmothers' kitchens, from before cork and silicone: a disc, feet, two handles, nothing to replace.
