Lotto game
Description
The lotto game is the game of chance of winter evenings and village fêtes: a caller draws the numbers and calls them out, everyone looks for them on their cards, the first to fill a line shouts quine, and the first to fill their card wins the big prize. This boxed set lets you play it at home, with up to 24 players.
It includes 24 coloured cards with large numerals and the numbered wooden counters the caller draws. Everything stores in a hinged wooden box, screen-printed in red.
To mark the squares, dried beans or buttons do the job. Agree on the stakes before you start, a sweet or a chore, and set the number of quines (full lines) to be won before the full card.
Lotto has been played in France since the Renaissance; it came from Italy, where lotto means the prize you win.
