Sailor's cap

The sailor's cap, the one worn by Breton fishermen and sailors: a soft crown in navy blue wool cloth, a short peak bound in black braid and a plaited cord above the peak. Pull it well down on the head and it holds in the wind.

The cloth is a blend of 70% wool and 30% polyamide, waterproof, which keeps out drizzle and dries quickly. It is made in France. Sizes 54 to 61.

Choose your size by measuring your head with a tape, just above the ears and eyebrows. It is not machine washable: brush it dry, dab a stain with cold water, and let it dry flat away from any heat source.

With the pea coat and the Breton jumper, it is the third piece of the deck wardrobe, and it looks just as good in town.
