2 polishing sponges

These polishing sponges are for bringing up the shine on a waxed piece of furniture or a pair of leather shoes after wax, cream or polish. Sold in pairs, so you can keep one for furniture and one for shoes, or one per shade of polish.

They are knitted from cotton yarn, round and thick, and sit well in the palm. Cotton scratches neither varnish nor leather, and it soaks up excess product.

First let the wax dry for a few minutes, then rub in circular motions, without pressing too hard, until the surface catches the light. For shoes, do not mix colours: a sponge loaded with black will mark a light leather.

Over time the sponge soaks up wax and polishes all the better. Do not wash it; keep it in the shoe-polish box.
