Two-tone pitcher

Description
The two-tone pitcher is a small 25 cl glazed stoneware jug, dark brown on top and off-white at the foot, with the rounded shape of farmhouse and bistro tables. At this size it serves breakfast milk, cream, a sauce or water for one.
It is made in France by Emile Henry, in its workshop in Marcigny, Burgundy, where ceramic pieces have been shaped and glazed since 1850. The stoneware is thick, the glaze glossy, the handle well clear of the body.
Glazed stoneware doesn't mind hot or cold at the table: pour in milk straight from the fridge or a warm sauce. It is washed in hot water with washing-up liquid; do not put it on a flame or a hob.
A two-tone design that hasn't changed in generations.
