Marshmallow strips

Marshmallow strips are long bands of soft, sugary marshmallow, sold in a box of 10 strips, 220 g net. This is the marshmallow of the old-fashioned sweet shops, the kind that was cut with scissors on the counter.

Five flavours come together in the box: orange blossom, raspberry, aniseed, lemon and violet, with natural flavourings. The colours, white, pink, green, yellow and mauve, come from colourings of natural origin. The blue and white cardboard box takes up an old confectioner's design.

Cut the strips into pieces, with scissors, to serve with coffee or slip into an afternoon snack. Marshmallow likes neither heat nor damp: box closed in a dry cupboard, and finish it in the weeks after opening, before it hardens.
