Rubber giraffe

This rubber giraffe is Sophie la girafe, the teething toy given to babies from their first months. It can be chewed, held in a small hand thanks to its long neck, and squeaks when pressed.

It is made of natural rubber, from hevea latex, with painted spots. Hollow and supple, it is soft enough to soothe gums that are hard at work. It is made by Vulli, which has been producing it since 1981.

Care: clean it with a damp cloth and a little soapy water, without soaking it, as water can get in through the squeaker hole and sit inside. Leave it to air dry.

Sophie was born on 25 May 1961, Saint Sophie's day, hence her name. She remains a newborn gift we are still asked for all the time.
