Wooden strategy game

This wooden strategy game is a pocket version of the line-up game known as Connect 4: a vertical grid of seven columns and six rows, red marbles and yellow marbles, and a single aim, to line up four marbles of your colour, in a row or diagonally, before the other player does.

Everything is wood: the grid, the rimmed base that doubles as storage, and the marbles, painted red and yellow. The whole thing measures 16 cm long by 10 cm high.

Players take turns dropping a marble from the top into the column of their choice; it falls to the first free hole. Games last a few minutes. To start again, lift the grid.

Keep it dry and away from toddlers, as the marbles are the size of a hazelnut.
