Bucket stilts
Description
These bucket stilts for children are two hard red plastic cups, each attached to a cotton cord. The child places a foot on each cup, holds the cords taut and walks by lifting cup and foot together. It is the first balance game, from the age of 4, long before pole stilts.
Each cup is 11 cm high and 11 cm in diameter, with a top ridged in circles so the sole doesn't slip. The cotton cord passes through two holes in the sides; shorten it with a knot while the child is small. They are made in Spain.
They are used outdoors, on flat ground. At first the child is happy just to stand up, then walks, then runs: arm and leg coordination comes on its own. A wipe with a sponge is enough when the cups come back covered in soil.
