Leather snap coin purse

A small leather coin purse with a snap closure: press the two sides and the opening springs apart with a click, let go and it closes again with a clack. No zip, no press stud, nothing to wear out. It fits in a jeans pocket or at the bottom of a bag, for coins, a key or earphones.

It is natural-tone leather, stitched along the top and stamped with a peacock on the front. The spring that controls the opening is slipped into the top hem. It measures 9 cm wide and 7.5 cm high. Made in France by a saddler.

The leather develops a patina and darkens where it is handled. To look after it, apply a thin coat of cleaning and polishing milk from time to time, then buff with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking it.
