Description
The hotel porcelain mustard pot is a small white mustard pot, rounded in shape, with its lid and a wooden spatula that passes through the notch in the lid. It goes on the table at serving time, next to the salt and pepper.
It is made by Revol, a family-run porcelain manufacturer established in the Drôme since 1768. Hotel porcelain is the porcelain of restaurants: thicker than display porcelain, made for the knocks of service and repeated trips through the dishwasher. Made in France.
Fill it in small amounts rather than leaving a large jar to age in it: mustard loses its bite in the air. The pot and the lid go in the dishwasher; the wooden spatula is washed by hand and dried straight away.
