Microplane

Microplane is the long, narrow grater for zest and Parmesan, and it started out as a wood rasp. The grater blades are not stamped but photo-etched in stainless steel, in the United States: they cut instead of tearing, so lemon and cheese fall in fine strands, not mush. We offer the zester, the one that made the brand's name, the coarse and wide-cut graters for cheese, chocolate or raw vegetables, the rotary grater, the 5-sided grater and the one that grates straight into its own box. There are also the mandolines, the extra-large peeler for squash, the garlic cutter and the ginger grater. A rinse under the tap is usually enough.
