Mechanical Animals
Mechanical animals in painted tin, wind-up: the pecking chick, the leaping rabbit, the sea lion spinning a ball on its nose. The cockerel clucks when you turn the crank, the elephant on a tricycle comes from a Spanish manufacturer that has been making metal toys since 1909. Many end up on a shelf, with collectors of old toys.
